A
graduate of Eastern Illinois University, Kimberly D. Conner is a
self-published author, a screenwriter and aspiring filmmaker.
In 2001, she placed as a finalist in the Hollywood Black Film
Festival Screenplay Competition and the University of Southern
California Guy A. Hanks and Marvin H. Miller Screenwriting
Program. She placed as a semi-finalist in Creative Screenwriting
Magazine AAA Screenwriting Competition in 2005. In 2006, she
placed as a Finalist in the Urban Mediamakers Short Film
Screenplay Competition.
Kimberly launched
Predestined Arts & Entertainment in 2005, a company that
cultivates artistic endeavors, a creative voice for people of
color. The company was founded on the belief that nothing in life
happens by chance or coincidence, the belief that there is an
orchestrated plan for every individual.
Predestined
develops independent projects guaranteed to entertain the vast
audience through books, upcoming films, art, photography, and
other creative works that promise to encourage and enlighten.
The objective
behind projects produced by Predestined is to generate dialog
about key issues and raise awareness in our communities and
society. The first release under Predestined Arts & Entertainment
is a book of poetry, Naked Poetics – Poetry, Expression and
Illustrations. Candid in nature, the book delves in areas some
would deem politically incorrect and controversial, yet
stimulating and entertaining. The book takes a thought-provoking
look at life through the eyes of two sisters, tackling topics
relative to life through the art of expression.
Predestined also
released a 2007 Male Calendar, Real Brothers Wear Pink. The
calendar featured a delectable array of Brothers from the Midwest,
a portion of the proceeds to be donated to breast cancer
organizations. She is a mentor with the Big Brothers-Big
Sisters Program. She is also a volunteer with the American Cancer
Society-Reach For Recovery Program.
